A walk in the garden

Today was a beautiful day.  Since I have been here it has either rained or the wind has blown furiously which also means it has been COLD.  Today was calm, sunny and warm.  So I took a stroll through the garden on campus.  When BJ and Krystal said there was a garden, I did not think it would be so big and glorious.  There were trees, grass, flowers, all sorts of pathways, ponds, and waterfalls.   I saw a mother with her daughter having a picnic.  A photographer with a little girl in her baptism dress taking outdoor photos.  Families strolling up and down the many paths that wind through the area.  Students tucked away in little nooks studying or laying on a blanket on the many grassy areas available. It is such a pretty and peaceful place.  Of course it is located at the highest point of the campus, which meant I had to take a bit of an up-hill hike, but it was so worth it.  Here are just a few of the many pictures I took today.

This is the entrance to the garden area
I think this tree looks like something you would see in a fairy tale forest.
This looks like a little cottage, but really it is a porch, Patty's Porch.

You walk through the doorway and it takes you to a secluded garden area.

This area was dedicated for horticulture students to plant a vegetable garden.

There is also an apple orchard

This is where you can purchase apples for 50 cents a pound.
